Skillzy and I have had our share of conversations about Led Zeppelin, and one of the things we agree on is that most of their songs, no matter the subject matter of the lyrics, seem to be at heart (or, ahem, perhaps other bodily parts) about the protagonist’s desire to get some action.
Even though this tune opens with the line “Hey lady, you got the love I need”, it is probably one of the few Zeppelin songs that doesn’t strike me as being about sex.
No, for whatever reason, I’ve always thought of it as more of a discourse on the nature of existence and mankind’s metaphysical journey along the road of life.
Either way, please enjoy this excellent tune.
Even on my slow connection, this is fun!
